Early life and education
Emilija was raised in Vancouver by her parents, who came from Serbia in the ‘80s in search of a better life. Her father has his own moving company, while her mother is giving math lessons to students attending high school.
Emilija became interested in acting at the age of 11, when she started spending a lot of her free time in front of the TV screen and she went on to attend drama classes at her high school at the age of 15, but didn’t win her first role until she turned 19. She was also interested in becoming a model, and tried her luck at various modelling auditions, however, she was asked to lose weight which is something Emilija wasn’t interested in doing, thus giving up on her dreams related to modelling.
