Emilia Bechrakis was born on 3 July 1985, in Athens, Greece, and is a lawyer as well as a television personality, but probably better known for being the wife of television personality Ryan Serhant. Her fame increased significantly when she joined as one of the cast members of the show “Million Dollar Listing New York”.

The Brave television series began in 2010, and follows the lives of three real estate agents in the region, focused on luxury properties. Her husband has been a part of the show since its beginning – the three represent all five boroughs of the city.
It started off as a spin-off from “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles”, though has had enough success to rival the original, as the New York version has been running for eight seasons. Ryan Serhant was born in Houston, Texas, though his family later settled in Topsfield, Massachusetts by the North Shore. He attended Pingree School, and at a young age his father taught him the values of entrepreneurship and diligence. During summers, he often did theatre and art projects, attending the Perry-Mansfield Arts School and Camp in Colorado. After matriculating from high school, he enrolled at Hamilton College, studying for a degree in English Literature and Theatre. He hadn’t intended on pursuing a career in real estate, and after graduating, he moved to New York in hopes of making it big in the entertainment industry.
For the first year, he struggled with gaining acting projects and mostly did stock photo shoots to help make ends meet. He then got his first television role in the soap opera “As the World Turns”, playing the character Evan Walsh. However, the role wasn’t enough to help elevate his career, and he decided to turn to hand modelling, doing commercials for AT&T and Nestle, but which he didn’t want to pursue forever, and on the suggestion of a friend, he decided to study real estate.

Serhant entered the real estate market following the real estate crash and economic downturn of 2008, brought on basically by the collapse of the mortgage industry. He initially only meant to have a real estate license as a form of support while he tried to land acting projects – he tried unusual tactics during his first year in the business, but earned very little, but didn’t let this derail him, and by his second year, he landed his first major sale worth $8.5 million. As the years passed, publications started to take notice of his quick rise to prominence in New York.
He eventually became the vice president and managing director of Nest Seekers International, leading him to create his own company called The Serhant Team, which consists of over 60 real estate-focused professionals in and around New York City. The company specializes in high-end properties and the use of creative strategies to help close deals. The team has broken numerous records, and has now been atop the real estate industry for several years.
His fame also increased significantly thanks to his work in “Million Dollar Listing New York”. He frequently appears on national programs apart from this show, and recently started a spin-off called ‘Sell It Like Serhant”.

Personal Life
Bechrakis became engaged to Serhant in 2013 after he apparently organized Times Square to be shut down so he could propose to her. Two years later, they held their marriage in a Greek church located in Corfu, Greece following his conversion to the Greek Orthodox Church. A “Million Dollar Listing New York” special was created following the event; they now have a daughter.
She continues to work as a lawyer, but during their free time the couple supports numerous charitable endeavors. They’ve donated their time and effort to causes such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Operation Smile, and Feed the Children.
She supports her husband during many of his public events. He’s a firm believer of giving back to the community, often going to media events to share tips on how he find success in real estate.
