Early life and education

Dylan was raised in Vancouver alongside one younger and one older sister, by his mother who is a chef, and his father who is a banker. Dylan has been very sociable since he was three, as he would often go with his mother to Starbucks and would randomly approach people, introducing himself and talking to them.

Seeing him being that social gave his parents the idea to enroll him at acting classes, and they also went around searching for talent agents who would let him appear in a commercial on even TV series. One talent agent gave him a shot, and after hearing Dylan recite a children’s picture book from memory, he was given an opportunity to show his acting skills in a commercial for Hasbro, for Candy Land Castle.

Career as an actor

Dylan’s career as an actor was launched in 2011 when he was seven, making his debut film appearance in “To the Mat”, which follows an ex-wrestler as he tries to keep his family’s wrestling school above water with the help of a consultant.

He won his next role in 2013 in “The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet”, portraying Little Boy, before sappearing in a single episode of “The Tomorrow People” TV series.

He gained a bit of recognition in 2014, after he was cast to appear in Tim Burton’s “Big Eyes” biography crime drama movie, which follows the life of Margaret Keane, a painter, and her difficulties with her husband who claimed credit for her works. In the same year he appeared in the short film entitled “Soldiers of Earth”, and in 2015 won the role of Victor in “The Returned” series, which is a remake of the French series released in 2012 entitled “Les Revenants”.

One of his most recent appearances has been in “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, Netflix’s black-comedy drama TV series, which stars Neil Patrick Harris and Patrick Warburton among others. The show counts three seasons, ending in 2019.

Dylan grew up playing sports and spending his free time outdoors – his favorite sport is hockey, often watching it on TV too, and occasionally attending games.
