Many people in China’s family have been involved in the film industry, while some of them were also into music and modelling. All of this motivated China to become an actress and a model as well – this was actually her dream while she was growing up – and with the support of her family and friends, she has made her dreams come true. However, this hasn’t stopped China from working on her education, as she graduated from Scripps College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, making her the first person in her family to finish college.

China’s career as an actress and a model

China launched her career firstly as a model in 1995, and is today rather better recognized as a model than an actress. Her career was launched when Roger Museenden gave her an opportunity to show her posing skills in front of the camera – China did well, and got to sign her first modelling contract. From there, she went on to pose for some of the most popular clothing brands in the world, including Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, while she has also worked for Shiseido cosmetics.

The year 2007 saw China appear in the “Burn Notice” TV series, but she only stayed a part of the cast for the show’s first season – in June 2010, China was chosen to be a host and one of the judges in the “Bravo’s Work of Art: The Next Great Artist”. She has also done voice acting, as she lend her voice to the character Katie Zhan in the “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” video game.
