Early Life and Education: Growing up in London

Callum was raised apparently an only child in the Chelsea district of England’s capital, solely by his mother of an unknown name and profession, while his father remains unidentified. His middle name is for poet David Robilliard, who was his mother’s friend, and who unfortunately passed away in 1988 from AIDS. Callum’s early childhood was spent in his birthplace, and it is stated by nearly all reputable sources that he took a very early interest in acting, while he was also a dedicated fan of Chelsea Football Club. His affection for the dramatic arts happened over the years that he spent watching films all day long, inspired by his mother’s suggestions.

As for his education, he is thought to have matriculated from an unspecified high school in London in 2007, apparently didn’t go on to university, but took some private acting courses after 2007.

Career: From modeling to Russian aristocracy

With unshakable intent to become an actor, inspired partly by “A Room for Romeo Brass” from 1999, at age 17 Callum was contacted by his mother’s friend, stylist Sascha Lillic, and asked to go to Paris to sign a contract with a modeling agency. He was soon modeling for Next and Reebok, so funding his private acting education, by which point he had already modeled in the US for three months and Japan for five months. In 2010, he realized his first role in the short film entitled “Think of England”. In 2011, he became a model for Burberry, and obtained his first movie role as Tony in “Zero”. 2012 proved to be a great year for Callum, as he debuted in a TV mini-series, playing Aaron in three episodes of “Leaving”, besides which he had an additional two roles – one in the short film entitled “Human Beings”, and the other in the TV mini-series entitled “The Town”.

His next four years in the business

Having established his name in the entertainment industry, Callum obtained three more roles in 2013, making his regular TV series debut portraying Calvino in an episode of the world-famous “The Borgias”, and was seen in the short film entitled “Alleycats”, and in an episode of “Ripper Street”. However, it was the year 2014 that brought his breakthrough, in the lead role in the film entitled “Queen and Country”, while he also played Eli in eight episodes of “Glue”. He was seen as Eli again in 2015, this time in “Glue Online”, though his three appearances in it remain uncredited, while he was also cast in two more films this year, entitled “Green Room” and “Victor Frankenstein”, alongside extremely popular actors such as Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy. 2016 marked another milestone for Callum, cast as Anatole Kuragin in the screen adaptation of Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy’s “War & Peace” – a work of art coveted in resume by many actors. In the remainder of 2016 he was seen in two films – “Tramps”, and “Assassin’s Creed”, an extremely popular game franchise adaptation.

From 2017 to present-day

Callum’s recent two years in the business have gone just as smoothly, starting with three film appearances in 2017 in recurring roles, the most popular of which was in “Writer’s Room”. In 2018, he portrayed Theseus Scamander, the older brother of Newton Scamander who is the main character of J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”. This year, Callum remains to be seen as Frank Churchhill (one of the three most significant roles) in the film entitled “Emma”, and in 2020 he is set to star in a TV Mini-Series entitled “The Capture”. This makes for a total of 22 acting credits for Callum thus far, which is sure to increase over time.

His award

On the 27th of October 2014, Callum received the Breakthrough Brits award by the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), alongside 17 other young UK actors.

Callum on “Fantastic Beasts” and more

In mid-November 2018, Callum was interviewed for etonline.com about a few of the films he worked on, including “Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald”. At the time when this conversation took place, this was the latest and most important film Callum was in (right now it still is). Among many things, he was asked how he thinks the fans have perceived him and whether he feels as though they appreciate his performance, to which he replied ‘Even before the film was released, people had accepted me as part of the family, and I’m so touched by that.’ He then went on to add how it’s ‘an honor’ to be seen in this film, stating that he himself is a massive “Harry Potter” fan.

He made an attempt at higher education

When in late August 2016 Callum Turner got interviewed by wmagazine.com about all kinds of details of his life and career, he gave the audience some unprecedented insight into his childhood. He was at one point asked how he got his modeling break, to which he said ‘I had just started a new college after getting kicked out of my old one and hated it.’, which goes to show Callum did find the idea of obtaining a degree attractive at some point, but the sources are unclear on which college this was and what other vocation he may have intended to master.

Love life: Does Callum Turner have a girlfriend? Is he gay?

When it comes to his romantic involvements, Callum doesn’t share much information, but it’s known that he and actress Vanessa Kirby have been dating since 2015. Due to Callum’s general secrecy about his relationships, he was previously rumored to be gay, dispelled in 2018 when both he and Vanessa finally confirmed that they had been together for over two years. They haven’t announced any plans for the furthering of their union. There had been speculation about Vanessa a few years back, stating that she suddenly and randomly got engaged to Tom Cruise, which she then called a hoax, which turned out to be just that.

What is Callum Turner’s Net Worth?

Have you ever taken a moment to consider what the wealth of Callum Turner could amount to around the middle of 2019? Callum Turner’s net worth is estimated by sources to be over $1 million, earned through his acting career now spanning almost 10 years. He is still  developing, so the said value would seem sure to increase.

Social Media Presence

As is the case with numerous celebrities, especially those involved in cinematography, Callum is expected to always be present on social media networks, maintaining the interest of fans in his professional career and personal life. However, it doesn’t seem as though Callum at all cares about this trend, since he is in no way involved with any of the most popular social media networks at the moment – he doesn’t have accounts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
