Brittney grew up being interested in reporting thanks to her father and her sister – the family would often watch news on TV, whether about politics or sports. She was popular at high school thanks to her father, who was an American Football star, and after she matriculated, Brittney enrolled at the DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications in 2008.

Showing support to their parents, both Brittney and her sister Jarrett have helped launch the Walter and Connie Payton Foundation, and are still part of it.

Career of a TV host and reporter

Brittney launched her career while still attending University, as she began her internship at FOX, and then ABC TV networks.

After her internship finished, Brittney went on to work for the Big 10 Network where she served as their host and a reporter – she held the position for more than a year and a half before switching to WGN-TV station, where she worked as a host of the “Chicago’s Best” TV show.

In 2013, Brittney received a Chicago Emmy Award for her work on the show, credited with hosting over 250 episodes before she decided to move on after winning a job at the FOX 32 network, where she is still part of their team – she is best known for serving as an anchor of their “Good Day Chicago” show.

Motivated by both her father and her sister, Brittney is also into sports broadcasting, and often contributes to the NFL Network – she has been the person to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for several years now (the award is given to the uprising star of the Super Bowl).

Other than that, Brittney can also be seen hosting a couple of sports shows such as “Bears Unleashed” TV show which is all about The Chicago Bears football team, her deceased father’s favorite. Although not an actress, Brittney appeared in the “A Football Life” TV series shot in 2011, and “The Rookie Handbook” TV series in 2016.

Personal matters and husband

Brittney is a married woman who prefers to separate her private life from her professional life but a few details regarding her marriage are still known.

Brittney and Jorden Benson were dating for more than five years before exchanging their wedding vows in July 2013 – they met at the DePaul University and it took them a couple of months to begin dating as they started off as friends. They exchanged their wedding vows on a football field as they are both into sports, and only their closest friends and families attended – the two have been married for more than six years now and there are no controversies nor rumors surrounding their marriage.

They are parents to their daughter Blair Hazel Benson who was born on 26 August 2016 – it doesn’t seem that the two are planning on having more children.

There were rumors that Brittney was dating a fellow reporter in 2013 but these were quickly dismissed by Brittney who was then already engaged – she hasn’t talked about any other man she might have dated before Jason, and judging by her social media accounts, the family of three seems to be leading a happy life together in Chicago in Illinois.
