Career Beginnings

Prior to completing her college education, she competed at the Miss University of Central Florida pageant and won. Martin completed her degree with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Criminal Justice. She credits her professors there for helping motivate her to find a career on television. Following the completion for her studies, she moved to Huntsville, Alabama where she worked for the station WAAY-TV as a sideline reporter. The ABC affiliate serves North Alabama’s Tennessee Valley.

During her time there, she often reported from the sidelines of games of the Atlanta Thrashers, a professional ice hockey team that competed in the National Hockey League (NHL) – the team would later become the Winnipeg Jets after relocating. She also reported on the professional baseball team, the Atlanta Braves as a part of their organization. The team competes as a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) as a part of the National League (NL) East division. The team is one of the most successful in professional baseball, winning their division title 14 times.

Move to Fox Sports

After her work with WAAY-TV and several Atlanta teams, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee to work as a sideline reporter for WRKN. During her time there, she covered games of the Tennessee Titans which is a professional American Football team which competes in the National Football League (NFL) as a part of the American Football Conference (AFC) division. The team was originally called the Houston Oilers before moving to Tennessee.

In 2015, she moved to Fox Sports where she was given duties as a regional sports host, replacing Jamie Hersch who left the company to work for the NHL Network. She joined the team of Fox Sports North, which covers sporting events of teams involved in the Upper Midwest region of the US, with a focus on teams in Minnesota. They handle operations from offices located in downtown Minneapolis and provide services to cable providers throughout Minnesota, northern Iowa, Upper Michigan, and Western Wisconsin. Working there, she mainly does reports on teams such as the Minnesota Twins, a professional baseball team which has fielded 19 American League batting champions, and hosted five All-Star Games. She also covers the Minnesota Wild ice hockey team.
