Famous American singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo was born in Los Angeles on 16 March 1988, making Pisces her zodiac sign. She gained recognition when she appeared in several music videos of the boy band B2K; Jhené was to release her debut album in 2003, aged 15, but she disappeared from media after the project was closed, and only returned when she began working on her debut solo album in 2011.
Jhené was raised in South Los Angeles alongside her four siblings, by their father Karamo Chilombo who was born as Gregory Wycliff Barnes, and mother Christina Yamamoto; she also has three paternal half-siblings. Jhené’s sister Mila J is today also a successful American singer-songwriter. The family’s home burned down when Jhené was seven, and they then moved to View Park-Windsor Hills in Los Angeles; she was homeschooled until high school.

Jhené’s debut extended play (EP) “Sail Out” was released on 12 November 2013 and peaked at #8 on the US Billboard 200 Chart, while its single “The Worst” topped the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Chart on 2 May 2014.
She sang the song “From Time” in the comedy series “Saturday Night Live” on 18 January 2014, and her debut album “Souled Out” was released on 8 September 2014; it reached #3 on Billboard 200, and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
