Who is David Mazouz?
American-Spanish actor David Albert Mazouz was born in Los Angeles, California USA, on 19 February 2001, making Pisces his zodiac sign. He has 23 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Bruce Wayne in the crime action series “Gotham”, which starred Jada Pinkett Smith and Ben McKenzie, and was created by Bruno Heller. It follows the life of Detective James Gordon from Gotham City, the series aired from 2014 through 2019, and won seven of the 69 awards for which it was nominated.
David’s currently working on five upcoming projects, including “The Cousin”, “The Island Between Tides” and “Generation Angst”.
Education and early life
David and his sister Rebecca were raised in a Sephardic Jewish family in Los Angeles; their mother Rachel Cohen’s of Greek descent and is a psychotherapist, while their father’s from Tunisia and is a doctor.
David fell in love with acting at a very early age, and was nine when he made his debut film appearance, playing Andy Roberts in the 2010 biographical drama “Amish Grace”, which starred Tammy Blanchard and Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and was directed by Gregg Champion. It depicts the Amish community following the Pennsylvania schoolhouse shooting in 2006, in which five Amish children were killed, and five others injured – the film won five of its nine award nominations, and David’s been active in the film industry ever since.
He had his Bar Mitzvah service in February 2014.
David studied at the Modern Orthodox Jewish Shalhevet High School, from which he matriculated in 2019; he was featured in a music video promoting the school. He continued his education at Stanford University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, psychology and economics in 2023.
Roles in TV series
David’s first TV series role was portraying Randy in the 2010 episode “After the Lovin’” of the romantic comedy “Mike & Molly”, which starred Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell, and was created by Mark Roberts. It follows two obese people who’ve met and fallen in love at an Overeaters’ Anonymous meeting, the series aired from 2010 through 2016, and won five of its 21 award nominations.
David could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the romantic comedy “Private Practice”, the comedy “The Office” and the crime mystery “Criminal Minds”. In 2012 and 2013, he portrayed the lead character Jake Bohm in all 26 episodes of the science fiction mystery “Touch”, which also starred Kiefer Sutherland and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and was created by Tim Kring. It follows a widower who’s just discovered that he can predict the future, and the series won two of its 14 award nominations.
David’s only three other TV series roles have been portraying Steve in the 2013 episode “All In” of the crime action “Major Crimes”, playing Ryan Hatcher in the 2014 episode “Life & Death” of the comedy “Drop Dead Diva”, and voicing Peter’s Co-Worker in the 2017 episode “Don’t Be a Dickens at Christmas” of the animated comedy “Family Guy”.
Roles in movies
In 2011, David played Timmy in the romantic comedy “Coming & Going”, which starred Sasha Alexander and Rhys Darby, and was written and directed by Edoardo Ponti. It follows a young adult who’s fallen for a girl, and is ready to do whatever it takes to win her heart.
David could then have been seen appearing in the 2013 mystery horror thriller “Sanitarium”, the 2013 musical comedy “Dear Dumb Diary”, and the 2014 family adventure “The Games Maker”. In 2016, he played Michael Taylor in the horror thriller “The Darkness”, which starred Radha Mitchell and Kevin Bacon, and was written and directed by Greg McLean. It follows a family who’ve inadvertently awoken an ancient supernatural entity, and are now fighting for their lives.
David’s since appeared in only two movies: the 2016 horror thriller “Incarnate”, and the 2021 crime thriller “The Birthday Cake”.
Other credits
David was featured in the 2014 short TV special “DC Comics Night at Comic-Con Presenting Gotham, the Flash, Constantine and Arrow”.
Some of his recent talk-show appearances have been in “Day by Day”, “The Grue Rume” and “Too Opinionated”.

David’s been nominated for five awards, including a 2013 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series – Leading Young Actor, for “Touch”, a 2016 Young Entertainer Award for Best Leading Young Actor – Television Series, and a 2018 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actor: Action, both for “Gotham”.
Love life and relationships
David doesn’t usually speak about his love life in public, but there’s still one girl whom we know about, whom David has dated.
He spent around a year dating Camren Bicondova, a popular American actress and singer who has eight acting credits, and is perhaps known best for having starred as Selina Kyle in all 100 episodes of the series “Gotham”, which was also how the two met. It’s believed that they didn’t start dating until 2019, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
There are some people on the internet who claim that David’s bisexual, and to have seen the actor kissing his boyfriend at a party, but this hasn’t been addressed by David.
He seems to be unattached as of July 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

David’s maternal grandparents were Holocaust survivors.
