Who is Barrett Doss?
American actress and singer Barrett Doss was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA, on 20 March 1989, meaning that Pisces is her zodiac sign. She has only 12 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Megan in seven episodes (2017) of the action crime adventure series “Iron Fist”, which starred Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick, and was created by Scott Buck. It follows a young man who’s become a martial artist, and has been bestowed with the mystical force of the Iron Fist; the series aired its 23 episodes in 2017 and 2018, and was nominated for two awards.
Education and early life
Barrett was raised as an only child in Minneapolis, by her father Karl Doss and mother Kelly Skalicky; after her parents’ divorce, Barrett lived with her mother in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Kelly eventually married her long-term girlfriend Veronica.
The three moved to Chicago, Illinois before Barrett turned 10, and then to New York City a couple of years later. Barrett studied at Professional Children’s School and fell in love with acting during her time there; she could’ve been seen appearing in a number of school plays, while she was also into dancing and singing.
Barrett matriculated in 2007 and then enrolled at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2011.
Roles in TV series
Barrett’s debut TV series role was playing Eliza Lemon in the 2013 episode “Hogcock!/Last Lunch” of the comedy “30 Rock”, which starred Tina Fey, who also created it. The series follows comedy writer Liz Lemon as she has to deal with a new boss, it aired from 2006 through 2013, and won 90 of the 433 awards for which it was nominated.
Barrett could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the crime action “Person of Interest”, the comedy “The Pioneers” and the mystery “The Family”. She played Kerry Ketchum in the 2016 episode “Callisto” of the crime comedy “Bull” and Zeva Carondelet in the 2017 episode “Hostage Situation” of the comedy “Girls”, and since 2023, she’s portrayed Victoria Hughes in 10 episodes of the romantic drama “Grey’s Anatomy”, which stars James Pickens Jr. and Ellen Pompeo, and was created by Shonda Rhimes. It follows the staff of a hospital, the series has been airing since 2005, and has won 85 of its 329 award nominations.

Barrett’s only other TV series role has been playing Victoria Hughes in 95 episodes (since 2018) of the romantic action “Station 19”, which stars Jaina Lee Ortiz and Jason George, and was created by Stacy McKee. It follows the lives of a group of firefighters, and the series has won six of its seven award nominations.
Roles in movies
Barrett’s appeared in only two movies. She portrayed Bertha Lancaster in the 2017 biographical crime drama “Marshall”, which starred Chadwick Boseman and Josh Gad, and was directed by Reginald Hudlin. It follows lawyer Thurgood Marshall as he’s about to become the first African-American Supreme Court Justice – the movie won four of its 25 award nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures.
In 2022, Barrett starred as Rachel Campbell in the romantic comedy “The Noel Diary”, which also starred Justin Hartley and Bonnie Bedelia, and was written and directed by Charles Shyer. The film follows a man who’s returned to his estranged mother’s estate for Christmas, and has discovered a diary which will reveal many secrets about his family.
Other credits
Barrett sang the song “If I Had My Time Again” in the 2018 episode “Little Shop of Horrors” of the comedy podcast “Diminishing Returns”.
She produced the 2018 episode “Noodle & Pals” of the animated family series “The Super Simple Show”.
Barrett received special thanks for the 2021 short movie “A Lost Man”, which follows George who’s having the worst day of his life.
Some of Barrett’s recent talk-show appearances have been in “Kick”, “Broadway.com #LiveatFive” and “Entertainment Tonight”; she’s also competed in the game-show “Celebrity Family Feud”.
Love life and boyfriend
Although not really open when it comes to sharing the details of her love life with the public, it’s known that Barrett’s been in a relationship with American actor Austin Durant since 2017.
The two haven’t spoken about how they met, but it’s believed that it was on a film set. Dan has only 10 acting credits and is perhaps known best for portraying Dr. Ashbury in the 2018 episode “Sh*t Show at the F**k Factory” of the critically acclaimed comedy series “Succession”.
Some of Barrett’s fans believe that she and Austin are today engaged, while others claim that they’ve perhaps exchanged vows, however, none of this has been confirmed by Barrett.
There are no other men whom she’s been with, that we know about; Barrett’s in a relationship with American actor Austin Durant as of July 2023, she hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
