Who is Abby Pollock?
Born on an unspecified date in 1994, in Toronto, Canada, Abigail “Abby” Pollock is a 24/25-year-old Canadian social media personality, influencer, personal trainer, physique competitor and bodybuilder. She became famous through her exercise programs, advice and meal plans, which are highly regarded in the fitness industry. However, she first became known because of her weight gain. All her life, Abby was insecure about her body and sometimes intentionally starved herself just because she was afraid to gain weight. At one point, she jogged for several hours each day, which lead to her becoming even thinner. After reading about fitness and nutrition online, she turned her life around by hiring a trainer, and chronicled her progress on social media, which inspired many people who were facing the same problems. Since then, Abby has become a professional bodybuilder, competing in the Physique category.

what do you think of kim k’s met gala look? . I’m making a video on it because *obviously* it’s received a lot of attention, but I also think a lot of fitness folk are quick to dismiss her because she’s had surgery and she’s nOt HeAlThy. I dunno. Surgery / corset / nasa level compression or not – achieving that kinda look ain’t easy so we’re gonna explore just how tough it really is ?
Early Life and Education: Growing Up in Toronto
Abby was born into a Canadian family, but there is no information about her parents or childhood. Like every celebrity, she has faced numerous inquiries about said matter. A true professional, she’s politely refused to answer any and all questions about her private life. Not many famous people possess this quality, as most purposely create scandals for attention. We do know that Abby was always an avid sports junkie, dabbling in soccer, figure skating and track & field as a child. In 2013 she enrolled at an unspecified college to study engineering, but there is no indication as to when she obtained her degree; the only evidence of her graduating is the ‘Mech Eng, BASc’ in her Twitter bio. Similar to most other athletes, she discovered working out in her early 20s, but this defining moment was preceded by a serious problem she’d battled since childhood.
Starvation, Insecurity and Changing Her Life Forever
Ever since she was a child, Abby was always envious of girls who were slimmer than her. This led her to being even more involved in sports, but despite being in excellent shape, she still wasn’t satisfied with the way she looked. By the time she was 19, she was 20lbs underweight and suffering from anorexia and bulimia. Pollock found it hard to adjust to college, so her grades were low during her first semester. At the same time, she was having problems with her boyfriend, so she began over-eating. After gaining some weight, she was scared that it would spiral out of control, which lead to her eating only one meal a day.
Her insecurities also prompted her to engage in cardio workouts on a daily basis, which made her even skinnier. ‘At one point, I think I was consuming around 900 calories per day.’, she says. ‘I really don’t know how I was able to function.’ In 2013, her father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. This could have devastated her, but the complete opposite happened. She was done ‘playing victim’ and decided to learn all there was to know about fitness and nutrition.
Becoming a Bodybuilder and More
After hiring a trainer and a nutritionist, Abby finally understood that everyone has a different body type and that she looked perfectly fine. To avoid any health problems, she slowly increased her amount of food intake, until she reached 2,000 calories per day. As she progressed and gained more weight, she realized that muscles are way more attractive than a skinny build, and at this point she became more determined than ever. In just two years she became a professional bodybuilder, and started competing against women much more experienced than her. This never bothered her, but instead only inspired her.
Today, she doesn’t compete that often anymore. Her focus is on promoting TransformNation, her own workout regime. In addition, she also sells merchandise with her logo on it. Fans love her because she provides a lot of free advice and guides on social media, making her one of the most popular fitness gurus on the planet.
How Did Her View of Training and Nutrition Change?
Abby loved sports, but she had the wrong perception of exercise, believing that completing two hours of cardio everyday was going to make her look better. However, this, combined with her diet, resulted in repercussions to her mental and physical health. Her trainer told her that she only needed to do short cardio sessions, two times a week at most. When she gained 10lbs, Abby also started lifting weights. Combined with cleverly designed cardio workouts, she wasn’t only getting bigger – she was also shredded. Today, Pollock goes to the gym four times a week, and as for nutrition, she has a flexible diet plan; this allows her to eat properly even while traveling for competitions, expos and other public appearances. It’s somewhat unbelievable to see someone go from anorexia to being a professional bodybuilder. For this reason, Abby is one of the most inspirational trainers today.

As for her romantic involvements, there is almost no information across any credible sources that could accurately describe this part of her life. Abby herself tends to keep news about her partners completely private, and has not yet come forward to address these fan inquiries. Nothing is known about her current status. However, she stated that her ex-boyfriend cheating on her in 2013 was one of the catalysts that resulted in her lifestyle change. In recent years, she hasn’t been seen attending any public events in particular male company, and there’s no one that the fans suspect across her social media profiles. There has also been no controversy regarding this matter. According to available information, or the lack thereof, Abby is single and focused on her career.
